Keep Supporting through Knowledge and Skills

A support group for carers of people with mental health difficulties

Finding the Balance (Juggling Life & Caring)

is a FREE workshop
for carers* (whether new to caring or with more extensive caring
experience).  An opportunity to meet other carers in a welcoming
and encouraging atmosphere, sharing tips and learning new life skills
to help in the caring role.

carer can be anyone, of any age, who provides unpaid help to family
or friends who would not be able to manage without their support.
This could be caring for a relative, parent, child, partner or friend
who is frail, has a physical or mental illness, disability or problem
with drugs or alcohol)

Aim:                            To enable carers to
improve the way that they meet their own needs in a healthy way, to
give the energy they would like to manage both their caring role and
their own life.
focus will be on
building self-esteem, problem solving, managing stressful situations
and lowering anxiety.
Approach:                   In a positive
atmosphere with easy conversation the morning will be facilitated
using the human givens approach to look at how to: identify personal
needs, effectively use one’s own innate resources to meet these
needs and to develop the skills to enhance the carers life. This will be a fun way of carers building on their own strengths and
those of others around them and will include a relaxation session.
